GIA invites you to celebrate the summer season at our annual benefit on Tuesday, June 12th 2012. Board Statue Cruise's new Hornblower Hybrid and arrive at Governors Island to mingle under the stars with cocktails, hors d'oeuvres & music on the lawn. We are especially pleased to honor three extraordinary Island leaders: Colonel John Boule, US Army Corps of Engineers, Seth Pinsky, President NYC EDC and Denise Richardson, Managing Director, General Contractors Association of NY. Your contribution is essential to the Alliance’s free public programs. GIA welcomes thousands of New Yorkers to the Island every summer with arts & educational programs. Our volunteers help stretch the capacity of government and other non-profit partners. Your support also enables us to continue our advocacy on behalf of the Island during the rest of the year. Due to inclement weather tomorrow’s event has moved to the Hornblower Hybrid. The Hornblower Hybrid will provide spectaular views of Governors Island and the New York Harbor from its glass enclosed, climate controlled upper deck. Please see below for the ferry schedule.
There will be special tours to the roof of the newly reopened Castle Williams before the event. For the tours of Castle Williams the ferry will leave the Battery Maritime Building at 5:15. As the capacity is limited, this tour is first-come first-served. You must RSVP to reserve a spot. Please RSVP to maya@governorsislandalliance.org or 917.652.6359. Tour attendees will be picked up by the Hornblower Hybrid from Governors Island.
The Hornblower Hybrid will leave Battery Park Slip 3 for the event (see map below). The ferry will depart at 6 and 6:45 PM. It will drop guests off at Battery Park at approximately 7:30, 8:30 PM.
